Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a blue fluorescent substance for a mixed white fluorescent lamps, by adding AlCl3 as a flux to an alkaline earth metal, phosphoric acid base and a compound having a halogen and Eu or element, and calcining the resultant mixture.
CONSTITUTION: 5W30mol% AlCl3 as a flux is usually added to a raw material consisting of an alkaline earth metal, a phosphoric acid base and a compound having a halogen and Eu or element, and the resultant mixture is then calcined to give the aimed fluorescent substance expressed by the formula (M is Sr or Ca; 0.02≤x≤0.2; 0.01≤y≤0.1; 0.01≤z≤0.15). The resultant fluorescent substance has a light emitting peak at 447W449nm, and the half width thereof is 30nm.
