Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an fibrous adsorbent suitable for packing a column, having excellent ion exchange capability and excellent adsorptive capability, by using a knitted continuous filament having an ion exchange groups and a cylindrical form with a specific length as a fibrous adsorbent material.
CONSTITUTION: As a fibrous adsorbent to be used for fixation of a physiologically active substance, the exchange of low-molecular ions, etc., a knitted continuous filament (approx. 0.01W50 denies) cylinder having an ion exchange capability and a length of approx. 3W30mm is used. The fibrous adsorbent, having a large surface area, excellent ion exchange capability, and excellent adsorptive capability, also serves to prevent the loss of pressure, blinding, etc., due to the biased flow of fluid and the consolidation of the fibrous adsorbent material after being packed in a column.
