CONSTITUTION:In measuring a minor diameter of screw, a tip 22 of a screw 23 is brought into contact with a lower surface 15b of a positioning plate 15 by taking a distance between a movable jaw 3 and a jaw 5 of vernier wider than the major diameter of the screw 23. Further, the position of the plate 15 is adjusted so that a measuring surface 5a of the vernier 2 comes to a root 23a of the screw 23 with a screw 14. A screw 11 turns a knob 10b of a micrometer head 10 moving a spindle 10a and adjustment is made so that a measuring surface 3a of the movable jaw 3 comes to the root 23a. The spindle 10a is fixed by the screw 11 and the minor diameter of screw for the root 23a is measured. Thus, the measuring accuracy of the minor diameter of screw can be increased.
