Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to deflect air flow for a large angle without changing the air-flow rate of a cross-flow fan, by making currents of air produced by vortices flow along the downstream portion of a rear guide, and thereby deflecting the flow of air ejected from the fan. CONSTITUTION:A cross-flow fan 7 produces current of air. In case that the angle theta of a rear guide 9b is smaller than about 60 deg., flow produced by vortices V is divided by a flow controlling member 11, and currents of air Fa between the flow controlling member 11 and a stabilizer 8 tend to issue in a horizontal direction by the function of the vortices V. However, since the amount of air of the currents Fa is much greater than that of currents Fb between the flow controlling member 11 and rear guide 9b, the direction alpha of air flow is made horizontal as a whole, i.e., substantially parallel to the direction of currents Fa, so that air flow can be deflected for a great angle without causing change in the air- flow rate.
