Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the friction factor and abrasion resistance of the belt by a method wherein the surface, with which rotating bodies contact, of the belt, which rotates rotating bodies positioned at right angles thereto by contacting, is ground with abrasives. CONSTITUTION:Polishing work is applied to the surface of the belt 1 employed in a tangential drive system, which simultaneously drives by means of a single belt a plurality of the rotating bodies contacting with the belt 1 in tangential state at a line at right angles to the running direction of the belt 1. The polishing work of the belt 1 is performed with a device comprising a belt nipping roll 11, a belt feed driving roll 12, a belt polishing roll 13, a belt take-up driving roll 14 and a belt driven roll 15. In this case, abrasives such as sand-paper or the like are pasted on the peripheral surface of the belt polishing roll 13, and the polishing work of the belt 1 is completed during the running between the rolls 12 and 15. By employing the belt 1 polished in the manner as mentioned above, the improvement of rotating performance of the rotating bodies 2, reduction of running noise of the belt 1 and the like are contrived.
