Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A carbostyril derivative of formula I(R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is cycloalkyl or pyridyl; A is lower alkylene; the carbon -carbon bond between the 3- and 4-positions in the carbostyril skeleton represents single or double bond).
EXAMPLE: 6-[3-(N-Methyl-N-cyclohexylcarbonylamino)propoxy]carbostyril.
USE: A preventing agent and remedy for thrombosis, phosphodiesterase inhibitor, antiulcer agent, hypotensive agent, cardiotonic agent, etc., having inhibitory action on blood platelet agglutination, inhibitory action on phosphodiesterase, antiulcer action, cardiotonic action, anti-inflammatory action, etc.
PROCESS: A carbostyril derivative of formula II is reacted with a compound of formula III to give a reaction product, which is then reacted with an alkylamine. The resultant carbostyril derivative is further reacted with an acifd chloride to afford the compound of formula I.
