Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out the painting without lack of hiding at a corner part and non-uniformity of upper and lower film thickness by a method wherein an article to be painted is immersed in water paint bath and an electric current is passed between the article to be painted and an opposed electrode in the paint bath.
CONSTITUTION: In the using water paint bath, a solid component thereof is 15W 45wt% and a viscosity thereof is 12W40sec/25°C in Ford cup No.4. An article to be painted is immersed in said paint bath for about 30secW1min. Subsequently, an electric current is passed between the article to be painted and an opposed electrode in the bath at a voltage of about 50W200V, pref., about 50W150V for about 15W180sec., pref., about 30W90sec. Thereafter, the article to be painted is taken out and setting is carried out without washing and baking is carried out to form a painted film. Temp. and humidity affects of an atmosphere during setting are extremely low and a good painted film is obtained.
