Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The 3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyloxyacetic acid anilide compound of formulaI(X is H, halogen, lower alkyl, or lower alkoxy).
EXAMPLE: 3,5,6-Trichloro-2-pyridyloxyacetic acid anilide.
USE: Herbicide having low toxicity against warm-blooded animals, no phytotoxicity to cultivated plants at normal application concentration, excellent safety, remarkably herbicidal activity, and broad herbicidal spectrum. It exhibits excellent effect to the weeds in the paddy field by applying as a soil treating agent or a foliar and soil treating agent before the germination of the weeds. Rate of application: preferably 0.2W1kg of the active compound per 1ha.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by reacting the compound of formula II (M is H or alkali metal) with the halogenoacetic acid anilide of formula III (Hal is halogen) in an inert solvent or diluent in the presence of an acid acceptor at 0W100°C under normal pressure.
