Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A pyran derivative of formula I (R1,3 are H or 1W6C alkyl; R2 is H or halogen; R4 is halogen-substituted 2W6C alkanoyloxy, 1W6C alkoxy- substituted 1W6C alkoxy, 2-tetrahydropyranyloxy, etc.; R3 and R4 may together form an oxo group).
EXAMPLE: 2-Monochloroacetyloxy-6-ethyl-5-oxo-5,6-dihydro-2H-pyran.
USE: Microbicide, insecticide and miticide, especially agricultural and horticultural chemicals having the above activities.
PROCESS: A compound I wherein R4 is 1W6C alkoxy group having 1W6C alkoxy group as substitution group, can be prepared, e.g. by the reaction of 2-hydroxypyran derivative II with an alkylating agent in the presence of an acid catalyst.
