Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance dispersibility of photoconductor, and resistance to moisture and solvents, strength, etc. of the photoconductive layer, by using a modified silicone resin, block isocyanate, and an acrylic resin as main components for the binder resin of the photoconductor. CONSTITUTION:A binder used for a coating material contains 0.5-50pts.wt., mixture wt. photoconductive powder, such as oxide or sulfide of Zn, Cd, or Se; 100pts.wt. silicone varnish modified with epoxy or acrylic resin; 10-50pts.wt. block isocyanate; 10-60pts.wt. (based on 100pts.wt. of the total of said varnish and isocyanate) acrylic resin. This coating material is coated on a conductive substrate and cured with heat to form a photoconductive layer. When needed, an insulating layer is provided, thus permitting the obtained photoreceptor to be high in durability and capable of forming an always sharp image high in humidity resistance.
