Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve an output with a prescribed pulse width to an input level changed rapidly, by delaying a part of an input signal by a half the pulse width and inputting it as a threshold value of a comparator, in a reception system of an optical communication system. CONSTITUTION:An optical input signal incoming in converted into an electric signal at a photo detector 1 and amplified at an amplifier 2, and a waveform 11 is applied to a comparator 5, a part of this input signal is attenuated by 3 dB at an attenuator 3 and delayed at a delay line 4 by a half an optical input signal pulse width T, and a waveform 12 is inputted as a threshold value of the comparator 5. The comparator 5 is operated when both input signals 11 and 12 are crossed to generate a step output 13, a monostable multivibrator circuit 6 is operated with the output to generate an output signal 14 with the pulse width accurately set to the optical input signal pulse width.
