Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare glass for reflecting hot rays, having high ability of hot ray reflection and improved durability, by forming a transparent alloy film comprising specific amounts of Ni, Cu, and B on the surface of glass plate.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent Ni-Cu-B alloy film comprising 1W20wt% Ni, 75W 99wt% Cu, and ≤5wt% B is formed on the surface of glass plate. The thickness of the film is 10W1,000Å. In the formation of the film, the surface of glass plate is treated with an alkali boronhydride such as sodium boronhydride or an amine borane such as amine borone as reducing agent for reducing a Ni salt such as nickel chloride, and a Cu salt such as copper nitrate, so that the Ni salt and the Cu salt are reduced.
