Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate for an operator to operate an apparatus, by installing members for always attracting upper conveying elements downward, and pushing down a lever fixed to said elements with a protuberance installed on an upper mechanism. CONSTITUTION:In copying operation, a conveyor 38 is set to a state capable of conveying a transfer paper 30, and an upper guide plate 42a, a second upper conveying roller 46, and an upside fixing roller 34 are each attracted toward lower conveying elements. On starting operation, the paper 30 is conveyed with a lower mechanism 28b. If paper jam occurs in copying, an operator stops operation of an apparatus, and turns the upper mechanism 28a open in the direction of arrow (u), and further, the plate 41a, or the like in the direction of arrow (v) in accordance with the place jammed. After removing the jammed paper, on releasing the mechanism 28a from a hand, each upper element is automatically restored to an initial working state by each spring force, permitting the apparatus to operate again only by closing the upper mechanism 28a.
