Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve dispersibility and durability by using a magnetic paint which contains polyester resin and silicone oil having a hydrogen group in a molecule in combination. CONSTITUTION:A base such as a polyester film is painted with a magnetic paint which contains 0.1-10wt% silicone oil having a hydrogen group in a molecule based upon a binder component, the binder component consisting of polyester resin and polyurethane resin having about 10,000-20,000 molecular weight and other resin components such as nitrocellulose, and magnetic grains of Co containing magnetic iron oxides, etc., thus manufacturing a magnetic recording medium.
