Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain pressure fixable toner which is spherical, has good fluidity, is free from flocculation and caking and is highly durable by spraying a toner material contg. PE wax or the like of a specific melt viscosity range at 140 deg.C at specific ratios or above in a molten state. CONSTITUTION:PE wax or the like of 10-600 centipoises melt viscosity at 140 deg.C having a definite fusion region (this refers to low mol.wt. PE and paraffin wax) is contained in a toner material at >=30wt%, and, if necessary, a coloring agent, magnetic powder, etc. are added to these and the mixture is kneaded and is sprayed in a molten state into cold wind, whereby a spherical toner is obtained. Hydrophobic colloidal silica is added at about 0.4wt% to this toner, whereby a developer is obtained. This developer has excellentfluidity, pressure fixability, durability, etc. and yields sharp images having no photographic fogs.
