Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an emulsion resistant to discoloration even after exposure to sunlight or alkali, keeping the termite-proofing activity, etc., and useful as a termite-proofing agent to be added to a material such as concrete, by mixing a phoxim emulsion with a mercapto compound.
CONSTITUTION: Phoxim of formula is emulsified in water and the resultant phoxim emulsion is mixed with a mercapto compound to obtain a phoxim emulsion resistant to discoloration. When mercaptoacetic acid or mercaptopropionic acid is used as the mercapto compound, the colored substance produced by the action of sunlight or alkali is converted to a colorless substance and when lauryl mercaptan, etc., is used as the mercapto compound, the formation of a colored substance can be suppressed to enable the prevention of the coloring of the phoxim emulsion.
