Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively separate and recover the valuable metals, by oxidizing roasting the smelter smoke ash containing copper at a specific temperature and leaching the roasted mineral with water and a mineral acid.
CONSTITUTION: The smelter smoke ash containing the copper is oxidized and roasted at a temperature lower than the softening point, i.e., about 500W600°C. The leaching rate of the arsenic can be set zero to the water by setting the above-mentioned temperature at ≥350°C. The roasted mineral is leached first by water then a mineral acid. The mineral acid is set at about ≤2pH (about ≤1pH preferably). As a resulr, the copper, arsenic, zinc and cadmium contained in the smelter smoke ash can be effectively recovered.
