Abstract

PURPOSE: To make high-speed recording possible irrespective of a scanning speed of a light deflector, by satisfying a prescribed relation among number of beams, a space of a beam spot on the recording surface, a scanning pitch, and a scanning line pitch.
CONSTITUTION: Plural optical beams 1 are scanned by a light deflector 2, an image formed on the surface of a recording body 4 by an image formation lens 3, and a recording image is generated. The surface of the recording body 4 has an effective length of "l" in length. When it is developed and shown in a figure, recording is made by spots of (n) pieces such as beam spots S1, S2, S3, etc. which have been placed at integer-multiplied intervals of a scanning line pitch P. When each interval of these beam spots S1, S2, S3, etc. is referred to as (s) and one beam, for instance, a scanning pitch by S1 is referred to as (d), expressions (1)W(3) have conditions that scanning lines by different beams are not superposed on each other, in case when m1, m2 and m3 are referred to as optional integers. Also, since all scanning lines by other beam must be contained by a pitch P in scanning lines of a beam S1, relation of the expression (4) holds good.
