Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a multipurpose type printer which drives a tractor for conveying a continuous medium to a printer heat, pickup roller for isolating single slips one by one and a feed roller for feeding them to the head through a belt or the like by a motor. CONSTITUTION:A tractor 1 for conveying a continuous medium, a pickup roller 12 or a pickup belt 27 for supplying in space in contact with the upper surface of stacked single slip media 11 one by one, and a feed roller 4 for feeding the media 11 to a printer head 8 are driven by transmitting a rotary drive force from a reversible single motor 17 via a rotary transmission mechanism such as pulleys 17, 29, 22 and belts 25, 26. A pulley 23 is connected via a unidirectional clutch to the pulley 22. When the roller 4 is reversely rotated, the roller 12 or belt 27 is normally rotated, and when the roller 4 is normally rotated, the connection is released.
