CONSTITUTION: This alloy for spindles and couplings of a rolling mill consists of, by weight, 0.20W0.45% C, 0.01W1.50% Si, 0.20W2.00% Mn, 2.00W4.00% Ni, 0.60W2.00% Cr, 0.10W1.00% Mo, 0.05W0.15% V and the balance essentially Fe. This alloy has said characteristics, and when it is worked into a product such as a spindle or a coupling, a quality difference between surface and interior can be reduced to zero. A part of manufacturing stages required to manufacture a conventional alloy can be eliminated, so the number of days for manufacture can be reduced.
