Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled catalyst having excellent catalytic activity and readily providing an easily processable polymer, consisting of a specified organomagnesium compound and a solid component prepared by impregnating an inorganic oxide with a reaction product of specified Cr, Zr and Al components and calcining the carrier.
CONSTITUTION: A catalyst for olefin polymerization, consisting of (A) a solid component prepared by impregnating an inorganic oxide carrier with a reaction product prepared by reacting a chromium-1,3-diketo compound represented by formulaI, wherein R' and R''' are each a 1W10C alkyl and R" is H, etc. with a zirconium tetraalkoxide represented by the formula: Zr(OR)4, wherein R is a 1W10C hydrocarbyl, and a halogen-free organoaluminum compound in an inert hydrocarbon medium, and calcining the carrier and (B) an inert hydrocarbon- soluble organomagnesium complex represented by the formula II, wherein α and β are each >0; p, q, r, s and t are each each ≥0; a relationship of formula III holds; M is Al, Zn or the like; m is the valence of M; R1, R2 and R3 are each a 1W20C hydrocarbyl and X and Y are each OR4 (R4 is a hydrocarbyl) or the like.
