Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce contrast of tint between foundation coating and sealer by making finish coating after filling sealer of PVC mixed with ester phthalate, CaCO3 and carbon black to the joint of outer sheets of an automobile body on which foundation coating of epoxy resin is electrodeposited.
CONSTITUTION: An outer sheet 1 of an automobile is immersed in epoxy resin coating and foundation coating 2 is made by electrodeposition. Sealer 3 made by mixing 100pts.wt. PVC, 100W300pts.wt. ester phthalate, 100W400pts.wt. CaCO3 and 10W 50pts.wt. carbon black is filled in the joint part of outer sheets 1 on which foundation coating is made. In this case Munsell color system 3.8W5.5 is used for the sealer. Finish coating 4 is then coated on the sealer 3. Consequently, contrast of tint between the sealer 3 and foundation coating 2 is made small and coating of good finishing can be made efficiently covering above-mentioned contrast by finish coating of one time.
