Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase printing speed by reducing weight of a plate spring while maintaining strength of a printing hammer, by dividing the plate spring into a plate spring main body and an armature section, and then, by bending the edge of a printing wire to an L shape and embedding it into the armature section. CONSTITUTION:A plate spring 6' is divided into a plate spring main body 6a and an armature section 6b. The plate spring main body 6a is made of a spring material of a ferromagnetic substance, such as permalloy, and is attracted to a magnet. The armature section 6b is made of a light-and-strong composite material, such as a plastic strengthened by carbon fiber, etc., and at the time of forming said armature, the end of an almost L-shaped printing wire 2 is embedded into the composite material so that they become a continuous body. Joining between the plate spring main body 6a and the armature section 6b is feasible either by using an adhesive or by performing at the time of forming into an integral body of the armature section 6b consisting of the composite material, satisfactory strength can be available in either case.
