Abstract

PURPOSE: Glutinous rice grains are soaked in warm water using the vessel of an electrically-driven rice-cake maker to shorten the time necessary for making rice cake.
CONSTITUTION: The mortar for pounding rice cake 13 is fitted to the boiler 6 and the blade 16 is fixed to the shaft 15. After washed, glutinous rice is placed in the motor 13 and water is added so that the rice is soaked. Then, electricity is applied to the heater 11 and the rice is heated to 40°C using a thermostat. After 1.5W2hr, the stopper 24 is removed and the water is drained through hose 23. After drained, the rice is combined with water in a necessary amount and the thermostat is set to 110°C so that the rice is steamed. Then, the blade is made to rotate whereby the rice is made into rice cake.
