Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the coloring characteristic and storage stability of a specific heat-sensitive recording paper, by incorporating a coloration accelerator composed of a eutectic mixture of o-terphenyl, m-terphenyl, and p-terphenyl into a recording layer of the heat-sensitive recording paper. CONSTITUTION:In a heat-sensitive recording paper containing as main components a leuco compound and an organic acid capable of developing colors when reacted with the leuco compound, a coloration accelerator, prepared by a procedure in which o-terphenyl, m-terphenyl, and p-terphenyl are heated together to form a eutectic mixture, and then the mixture is cooled to ordinary temperature for solidification and pulverized into fine grains, is incorporated into the heat-sensitive recording paper. Thus, a heat-sensitive recording paper with is excellent in record density, primary ground density, and storage stability can be obtained.
