Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition which keeps the granular state without pulverization during transportation and metering, and can be dispersed in a polymer rapidly and homogeneously by compounding and kneading, by bonding powder of heat stabilizer with an infusible, discontinuous phase of a pressure-sensitive waxy additive.
CONSTITUTION: Powder of heat stabilizer which is infusible at the processing temperature of a chlorine-containing polymer, e.g. a lead salt, an alkaline earth metal hydroxide or zinc hydroxide, is mixed with pressure-sensitive waxy additive powder which is fusible below said processing temperature, e.g. metal soap, hydrocarbon wax, animal or vegatable wax, higher fatty acid, etc., at a weight ratio of 98:2W 2:98, and the mixture is passed through the gap between a pair of press rolls at a temperature lower than the melting point of said additive. The film thus obtained is roughly crushed to obtain flaky powder. The flaky powder has a specific surface area close to that of the powdery mixture of the heat stabilizer and the additive, and a pore volume close to that of the molten mixture of both components.
