Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a functional Cu alloy contg. a prescribed percentage each of Al and Y or ≥1 kinds of rare earth elements besides the balance Cu and having an improved function such as shape memorizing effect, superelastic behavior or damping capacity.
CONSTITUTION: This functional Cu alloy consists of 9W15wt% Al, 0.003W0.3wt% Y or ≥1 kinds of rare earth elements and the balance Cu. As the rare earth lements, an industrially used mixture of rare earth elements including La and Ce as principal components, that is, misch metal is used. By adding ≤10wt% Ni, ≤35wt% Zn or ≤5wt% Fe and/or Co separately, the transformation temp. region of the Cu alloy can be regulated.
