Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain fuel gas having colorific value and rate of combustion, and suitable as town gas, without generating toxic products and gummy substance, by thermally decomposing solid wastes under specific conditions, removing impurities from the produced gas completely, and subjecting the gas to specific modification treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Solid wastes are thermally decomposed at 700W900°C to obtain gas containing H2, CO, CO2, hydrocarbons such as methane, inert gas, and impurities such as chlorine compounds, sulfur compounds, etc. The gas is washed, refined by hydrotreatment, and subjected to the dehydrochlorination and desulfurization to remove the impurities almost completely. The purified gas is subjected to one or more treatments selected from low temperature steam reforming, high temperature steam reforming and CO conversion according to need, and then, steam and/or CO2 gas are separated from the product to obtain the objective gas.
