Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve lubricating characteristics and abrasion resistance and to prevent splashes by applying nickel alloy plating codeposited with boron nitride and titanium carbide on the inside wall surface of a mold made of copper or copper alloy and further applying chrome plating thereon. CONSTITUTION:Nickel alloy plating is applied on the inside wall surface of a mold used for cintinuous casting of steel or other metals and made of copper or copper alloy. Boron nitride having stable high temp. lubricating performance and titanium carbide having abrasion resistance are codeposited in this nickel alloy plating layer. Then, chrome plating as a measure against splash is applied on this neickel alloy plating film layer.
