Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable coils to be wound automatically and efficiently, by a method wherein an indexing means, a coil winding and inserting means, a wedge inserting means, a terminal lead wire holding means and a crossover wire forming means are provided, and coils are directly wound in the iron core slots. CONSTITUTION:With an indexing means C as a center, a coil winding and inserting means B is provided thereabove, as well as a wedge inserting means D, a terminal lead wire holding means E and a crossover wire forming means F are installed therearound. Then, first, an iron core 1 is mounted on a platen 50 of the means C, with its slots directed upward. After a spool 5 of the means B is arranged thereabove, a flyer 17 is rotated around the spool 5, as well as a wire pushing-in member is actuated so as to successively insert wire into the slots to form coils. Between the respective coils, the means E and F are operated in order to handle terminal wires and crossover wires. In addition, after all coils have been formed, the means D is actuated to insert wedges.
