Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a material for selective absorprion of solar heat energy, which has a high absorption rate in the wave-length range of visible and near infrared rays, by forming an anodized coating over the surface of oridnary aluminum or aluminum alloy, and coloring the coating to black or to a similar tone of color in an electolytic bath.
CONSTITUTION: After forming an anodized coating having a thickness of about 0.2W0.5μ over the surface of aluminum by anodizing the same in an alkaline electolytic bath, it is electrolyzed in an electrolytic bath containing a heavy metal salt or salts for coloring the coating to black or to a similar tone of color. By the above process, it is enabled to obtain a material for selective absorption of solar- heat energy which uses, as the base material, aluminum alloy or aluminum having a purity employed ordinarily in industry.
