Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce internal resistance and improve durability of liquid leak preventive measure by employing a clad material of age-hardening special metal for the cathode box of cell. CONSTITUTION:The anode box 2 contains an anolyte mixture 5 and a separator 4, and poured into the cathode box 1 is a cathode material 6 consisting of amalgamated zinc, etc. A tightly sealed button type silver oxide cell is formed between the two boxes 1, 2 with a gasket 3 inserted inbetween. The cathode box 1 is fabricated with a clad material comprised of the first metal, an age-hardening type of stainless steel adequate for plastic forming and solution treatment as the inner layer 1d, the second metal, pure nickel layer 1e of the outer surface, and the third metal, pure copper layer 1c on the inside surface. For the inner layer 1d, an age-hardening type of beryllium steel is most adequate.
