Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a sample collector and facilitate its operation, by a method wherein a three-way control valve is installed near the sample collection portion of a sample water conduit and a storing portion is installed within a portion of a drain pipe connected to the three-way control valve, so that a washing water conduit is made to branch off from the downstream side of the sample collecting valve. CONSTITUTION:When a sample collecting valve 14 is opened, sample water is allowed to flow and reach a valve port 18a of a three-way control valve through a flux adjusting valve 16. Valve ports 18a and 18b of the directional control valve are connected to each other and the sample water is made to flow into a drain conduit 24 and used for flushing the inside of a sample water conduit 10. When the sample collecting valve is closed, new sample water is allowed to remain in a liquid storing portion 24a. When valve ports 18b and 18c are connected to each other, a certain amount of the sample water in the liquid storing portion 24a flows into a sample water collecting container 20. After the valve ports 18a and 18b are connected to each other, the washing water rinses the inside of the drain conduit 24 when a washing water supply valve is opened. by so doing, the construction is simplified and, at the same time, the apparatus can readily be operated.
