Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a heat treatment furnace which reduces the sizes of devices and permits uniform heat treatment by disposing a charging port, a preheating zone, a heating zone, a soaking zone and an extraction port in a U shape when viewed flatly, and so constituting the system thereof as to perform heat treatment by suspending long-sized steel materials to rails.
CONSTITUTION: After steel pipes 1 are suspended to hangers 2 in a loading preparatory part 26, the pipes 1 are fed to a preheating zone 23 through a loading port 11 with its loading door 10 open. With the pipes 1 held suspended to a rail 3, the pipes are U-turned along an intermediate wall 12, are passed from a heating 24 to a soaking zone 25 and are thereby heat-treated, afte which an extraction door 4 is opened and the pipes are extracted through an extraction port 5. Next, the extracted pipes 1 are cooled in a cooling and removing part 27, after which they are removed from the hangers 2. Since the loading port, the preheating zone, the heating zone, the soaking zone, and the extraction port are disposed in a U shape when viewed flatly in this furnace body, the reduction in the sizes of the devices is possible. Since the long-sized steel materials are suspended with the hangers, damaging of the materials is obviated and uniform heating is accomplished.
