Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce consumption of power, to make the size extremely small, to decrease noises, to reduce cost by a method wherein reciprocating movement of a printing means is made by a crank mechanism, a cap mechanism is fixed at a nozzle point of a head and transmission locus is changed by the reverse rotation of a motor. CONSTITUTION:An ink tank 17 is connected to an ink-on-demand type ink jet head 14 and the tank 17 is fixed to a holder 16. A slider 15, and the holder 16 are fixed to a shaft and the slider 15 is slided on the slider shaft 22 as it is followed by the holder 16. The rotation of the motor 9 is transferred to a body 12 of rotation through gears 10, 11 and the rotation is changed by a transmitting means 13 into reciprocating motion and transmitted to the holder 16.
