Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable saving of energy, by a method wherein a detecting signal is fetched from a part where a printer performs a (quasi) uniform motion, the signal is divided by an integer, and the position of a carriage, performing nonuniform motion, is found out to control a printing position.
CONSTITUTION: With a motored gear turned, a timing original signal is generated from a tachometer generator. Simultaneously, a one-turn reset original signal is generated from a reset detector 6, consisting of a mechanical contact, by means of a reset signal cam 12b once per each turn a crank gear 12 rotates one time. A carriage 15 engages the crank gear 12 through a crank 13, and thereby it reciprocates one time during one rotation of the crank gear. The carriage 15 performs a nonuniform motion in a regular manner if the crank gear 12 rotates.
