Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a recording medium suitable for a heat-sensitive recording paper for use with a facsimile and the like by a method wherein a given orthobenzoyle benzoic acid derivative is used as a developer, and which colors into a dark color within a narrow temperature range, has less ground-contamination and less sublimation of the developer. CONSTITUTION:(A) 1-95pts.wt. an orthobenzoyle benzoic acid derivative (example: 2-benzoyle benzoic acid and the like), which is represented by a formula [where R1-R3 is H, halogen, (cyclo)alkyl group, OH and the like], and is used as a developer, and (B) 1-15pts.wt. an electron donative developer (example: crystal violet lacton and the like) are separately mixed well in a medium, such as water, which does not dissolve them, togetherwith (C) 1-40pts.wt. a binder (example: PVA and the like) to prepare dispersion liquids which are applied on a supporting product, such as paper, for drying to produce a heat-sensitive sheet. USE:A recording paper can be effectively used as a developer sheet for pressure- sensitive recording paper as well.
