Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a small-sized silencer with enhanced performance by installing a gas leading pipe in a perforated silencing device, which is to work when high-pressure gas or steam is released out to the atmosphere, and thereby allowing the gas or steam to disperse uniformly from the perforation.

CONSTITUTION: High-pressure gas or steam discharged from a tank or piping to be released out to the atmosphere is introduced into a diffuser pipe 1 which is provided with a flange for mounting, enclosed at its foremost part, and perforated 20 throughout the outside circumferential surface. In this diffuser pipe 1 is arranged an inner pipe 4 open at the ends and secured with gaps against the internal surface of the pipe 1. Accordingly, part of the gas introduced into the diffuser pipe 1 passes through the gap between two pipes to be released to the atmosphere from the perforation 20, where the gas is likely to disperse in a larger amount from the foremost part depending upon its flow speed, while the gas etc. sent into the inner pipe 4 proceeds out to the gap between the pipes from the foremost part and sinks in this gap to press down the gas mentioned above, so that the gas out of the perforation 20 is, as shown in the figure, released in a distributed spectrum as approx. symmetrical about the center viewed in the longitudinal direction, that will assure well enhanced performance of silencing.
