Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a firm sand pile by a method wherein an inner casing is moved vertically by means of an air spring of long stroke and thereby the compacted sand in an outer casing is further rammed sufficiently in the captioned device consisting of the outer and inner casings.
CONSTITUTION: The stopper 74 of a guide pipe 73 is engaged with a fixing board 70 by the injection of air into the air spring 4 and thereby the outer casing 1 is fixed monolithically with an exciter 3. By operating the exciter 3, the outer casing 1 is thrusted into the ground in a prescribed depth and thereafter the sand is charged in the outer casing 1 from a hopper 11. Then, the inner casing 5 alone is moved vertically by the exciter 3. Furthermore, the inner casing 5 is moved vertically by injection and extraction of air into and out of the air spring 4, whereby the sand in the outer casing 1 is rammed. Since the vertical expansion stroke of the air spring 4 is long, the compacted sand in the outer casing can be rammed further.
