Abstract
PURPOSE: To wash a filter material in a washing drum and, at the same time, sand is separated by carrying out washing of the filter material in the rectangular cylindrical washing drum subjected to rotary driving in a water tank to vigorously mix said filter material with water.
CONSTITUTION: An openable and closable lid of a washing drum 2 is opened to throw anthracite into said washing drum by a conveyor 18 with a bucket and an auxiliary chute 19 and said lid 7 is closed. Subsequently, a transmission gear box 10 with a prime mover is driven and the washing drum 2 is rotated in a condition immersed in a water tank 3. In this time, air is simultaneously sent a hollow shaft 4 by a blower 20 to inject air from a nozzle pore 5 of said hollow shaft 4. As the washing drum 2 is rotated, anthracite is impinged to each inner surfaces of a rectangular shape of the washing drum 2 and vigorously mixed with water invaded into the drum 2 through a metal net 1 and washing effect is enhanced.
