Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the operation of an optical shutter array and to increase the amount of light to be passed through, by separating and storing time series video signals for a specified period according to the number of elements of an optical shutter array, and applying them to the optical shutter array. CONSTITUTION:A time series video signal (a) is applied to a data separation circuit 12 and a synchronizing clock signal (b) in synchronizing it is applied to a control circuit 11. The control circuit 11 gives an instruction signal to the circuit 12 so as to store the time series video signal in a line memory 10b not connected to the output side of the data switching circuit. When the signal (a) is stored in each bit of the line memory 10b, the circuit 12 is activated and succeedingly stored the signal (a) to a line memory 10a. At the same time, the line memory 10b is connected to the output of a data switching circuit 13 and applied to an optical shutter array 3 through an optical shutter array driver 9. The polarization factor changes by each bit applied in the array 3 and transmission/interruption of radiated light is made.
