CONSTITUTION:Light from a laser oscillator 1 is scanned to strike a bar-code symbol 4 and its reflected light is guided to a bar-code decoder 7 via a photoelectric convertion element. In this case, the decoder 7 obtains normal readout information from data of each memory for bar-code data within the time until the scanning start of the next bar-code symbol after the scanning start of some bar-code symbol. Thus, an accurate reading operation is performed with small-sized constitution and its line speed is increased.
