PURPOSE:To obtain a frequency dividing circuit which switches the frequency dividing operation and the through operation, by adding transistors to a master- slave D type flip flop circuit of the differential ECL constitution. CONSTITUTION:Transistors TRs Q19, Q20, and Q21 which have bases connected to a control terminal G commonly are added to a flip flop circuit, and outputs Q' and Q are fed back to bases of the TRs Q11 and Q12. If the voltage level of the control terminal G is lower than (VCC-RI), TRs Q19, Q20, and Q21 are not operated, and therefore, a clock signal phi and an inversional phi are divided to 1/2 and are outputted from output terminals Q and Q'. If the voltage level of the control terminal G is set to VCC, TRs Q19, Q20, and Q21 are operated, and output signals of the same phase as the clock signal phi and the inversional phi are outputted from terminals Q and Q'.
