Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect the abnormality of a cutting body and to predict the life of the cutting body accurately, by calculating the spectral density of the vibration of a cutting body while using a self-return model then comparing the parameter of said model with a refferential level.
CONSTITUTION: An electrical signal representing the output of a transducer 1 or the vibration of a cutting tool BT is provided to a sampling circuit 2 then converted into a digital data and stored in a memory 3. An arithmetic section 4 will take out the newest sampling value L stored in the memory 3. The time sequential data taken out in such a manner is provided to a formula pre-supplied in a memory 5 for the purpose of the system fixing. The system parameter when the cutting tool is normal is pre-stored in the memory as the refferential value. The arithmetic section 4 will read out the refferential value from the memory 5 to calculate the system parameter, the refferential value and the deviation J. Said deviation J is the index for indicating the degree of the abnormality of the cutting tool BT, and recorded by means of a suitable output device 6.
