Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently perform class AB amplification with high characteristics, by less idle current, by supplying an input signal and a high frequency bias signal to a power amplifier after synthesis. CONSTITUTION:An input signal, e.g. video signal fp in modulation, and a high frequency bias signal fB are applied to a synthesizer 21. The synthesized signal is applied to a power amplifier 22 of class AB for amplification. This amplified output signal is applied to an output filter 23 to reject said high frequency bias signal fB and an unnecessary frequency component. By using the high frequency bias signal, since the input and output characteristics of a power amplifier 21 are improved as shown in solid lines, the distortion of low level region can be reduced, the dynamic range can be extended, and character changes due to the difference of modulation and temperature can be improved.
