Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve tensile strength, fatigue strength, abrasion resistance, pitting corrosion resistance and also machinability by adding Mo together with one kind of Sb, Sn, Cu and also incorporating a specified minute amount of B.
CONSTITUTION: 0.03W0.09% Mo and one kind among 0.02W0.10% Sb, 0.02W 0.10% Sn, 0.3W1.5% Cu are incorporated together to spheroidal graphite cast iron which contains 2.6W4.0% C, 1.5W3.5% Si, 0.1W1.0% Mn, 0.02W0.1% Mg and also 0.0009W0.035% B. The matrix of spheroidal graphite cast iron is strengthened by addition of Mo and Sb, Sn, Cu etc., the decreased decomposition of pearlite in annealing treatment due to these elements is improved by addition of B and the machinability is improved by regulating the amount of pearlite in the texture to less than 80% areal ratio and by decomposing the remaining pearlite into ferrite and graphite.
