Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a urethane foam exhibiting no transverse loosening phenomenon and having excellent adhesion, by adding an acid phosphate ester to a polyol composition for the production of urethane foams.
CONSTITUTION: To a polyol composition comprising an active hydrogen compound containing a polyol, OH value 300W900, e.g., glycerin/propylene oxide adduct, a blowing agent, e.g., trichlorofluoromethane, and, if necessary, a catalyst, e.g., tin octanoate, adjuvants, e.g., siloxano-oxyalkylene block copolymer (foam stabilizer), trismonochloroethyl phosphate (flame retardant), is added an acid phosphate ester of the formula, wherein R1 is a residue of an alcohol, a phenol or a polyoxyalkylene alcohol, e.g., monoisopropyl phosphate. Foams having no transverse loosening and good adhesion to substrates are prepared by foaming the produced composition.
