Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a water absorption inhibitor compsn. which has excellent water absorption-inhibiting properties, adhesiveness and water repellency and is suitable for protecting outer walls of buildings, by blending a chlorinated polyolefin resin with a specified hydrolyzable silane compd.
CONSTITUTION: At least one hydrolyzable silane compd. (A) selected from an organoalkoxysilane, an organoacetoxysilane, an organohalogenosilane, an organodisilane, an organosilane carboxylic acid, an organosilanethiol, an organosilicon isocyanate and an organosilicon isothiocyanate, is mixed with a chlorinated polyolefin resin (B) such as chlorinated polypropylene in such a proportion as to give a weight ratio of A/B of 1/0.1W10 to produce the desired water absorption inhibitor compsn. This compsn. exhibits an excellent water absorption-inhibiting effect by the synergistic effect of components A and B.
