Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of water necessary for washing and to enhance the stability of an image after processing by using benzisothiazolines and alkanediphosphonic acids in a washing process after the processing process using thiosulfate. CONSTITUTION:When an exposed photographic sensitive silver halide material is developed, compounds represented by formulaeI, II are used in a washing process after the processing process using thiosulfate. In formulaeI, II R1 is H, halogen, alkyl, aryl, alkyl halide, aralkyl, -R12-O-R13 or -CONHR14, each of R2, R3, R4 and R5 is H, halogen, OH, alkyl, amino or nitro, R12 is alkylene, each of R13 and R14 is H or alkyl, R6 is H, OH or amino, R7 is H or 1-5C alkyl, and each of R8, R9, R10 and R11 is H, COOH or OH.
