Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composite fibers, obtained by the special composite spinning of plural types of polymers having different solubilities in solvents into a special shape, and capable of giving knitted and woven fabrics having a feeling with crispiness.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyester, preferably containing 80mol% or more ethylene terephthalate units, or a polyamide, preferably nylon 6, and (B) a polymer having a higher solubility in a solvent, preferably an aqueous solution of an alkali, than the component (A), preferably a polyester consisting of 2.4mol% or more ethylene-5- sodium sulfoisophthalate units and 70mol% or more ethylene terephthalate units, are subjected to the composite spinning by using a spinneret apparatus consisting of the upper plate 1 and the lower plate 2 to give fibers having a multilobed cross section in which the component (B) is divided into plural parts by the component (A). The weight ratio between the components (A) and (B) is preferably 60/40W 90/10.
